 >  > Church Tackle TX-22 Special Planer Board
Description

The Church Tackle's TX-22 Special planer board is reversible; it can easily be assembled to run either port (Left) or starboard (Right) and can be changed back in minutes. It is the most perfectly balanced side planer in the world: it sets upright in water with no forward motion for trolling at slow speeds. With the perfect weight distribution it makes for easy retrieval.

By far, the easiest to use planer board on the market today. The adjustable flex clip can be adjusted for different line diameters and works great with mono, super braids and lead core.

Included is a fluorescent red flag, making it easier for you and other boaters to see the board in the water. Like all the Church Tackle planer boards, the TX-22 Special uses the same patented clip and rear pin.

Included in this kit:

  • Tow-arm & clip assembly
  • Foam insert
  • Rear pin
  • Pin spring
  • 2-hair pin clip
  • Weight
  • Flag
  • 3-#6 x 1/2 screws
  • 2-#8 x 3/4 screws

These boards are bright orange and measure 9 3/8" x 3 1/2" and are made in the USA.

Church Tackle make many sizes of planers. I own three of those sizes. I have found this size to be most universal. If you have a motor driven boat big or small, this planer works great. If you're like me and don't want to buy a planer mast or just want to get an extra line off the boat, this is my top suggestion/choice. It'll run 3-4 colors of lead core easy and flat line all day. If you want to planer lots of weight like copper or a full ten color leadcore, go w/ the huge TX-44. If you want to planer ultra light tackle, I suggest the Tx-12 over the Tx-6 just due to diversity of uses. The Tx-22 is Church Tackle best inline board on the market in my mind. Don't think about it. Buy it and try it. You'll probably end up like me with four of them.

Purchased two in late August 2010 for a trip to Minaki Ont. They worked well [...]The boards are tough, they even rock climb as I pulled one over and up a rock cliff. The boards kept two of our five lines well spaced. We were fishing lures in the 2-5 ounce range. The TX-22 Special did the job well.We did break and end off one of the pins due to the rock climb......my fault.
