Love this rod! Paired it with a Pfleuger President and some 8lb NanoFil, and it works really nicely for panfish, perch, and smallies. I'm looking forward to trying it on some eater walleyes. My only knock was the learning curve for hook setting. It took a while to get used to the slower action, but once I worked out my technique its been fine.

Pros: light and sensitive, casts extremely well, excellent price

Cons: Learning curve to set hooks

Best Uses: bait and light jigs, Panfish, trout, smallies, perch, white bass

I purchased this rod for use 1 week a year at Lake Panguitch, Utah, a stocked rainbow, Cutthroat and Tiger Trout lake. The rod exceeded my expectations with cast-ability and sensitivity. We fish a quarter ounce slip weight on 4 pound Vanish baited with Gulp dough bait. In 5 days of fishing I caught nearly 50 rainbows and 15 Cutthroats from 12 to 18 inches, releasing everything under 18 and all Cutthroats. I did catch one 20 inch Tiger Trout on Berkley Gulp Chunky Chartreuse Garlic, it also went back. I am going to order another one of these 7 ft. light rods for next year.

Pros: sensitivity, light and sensitive

Cons: none

Best Uses: Trout, panfish

About Me:
Got the 7' light and it suits my needs. I read some reviews that said the reel seat is junky, and they were correct, so I just wrapped it in electrical tape to keep it from breaking. First trip out I got 3 16", and a 21" stocked Rainbow. No issues with the rod, which was both sensitive and had enough backbone to boat the big one without a net. I needed this rod because I don't have a green one!!

Pros: light and sensitive, casts well

Cons: reel seat is junk, I can see how it cracks easily

My 11 yr old grandson placed his first cast and hooked a 2lb 3oz Rainbow Triploid within 30 seconds of the bait hitting the water. As he reeled in the cork reel fastener BROKE in two!!! He landed the fish but his brand new pole was a disappointment. Good thing I had a spare pole. I'm waiting for Berkley to replace the pole on warranty. Pole cost [$] last week. This week it cost [$] for Fedex return plus $9.95 S&H for a return pole a total of [$] ... go figure!

Pros: Light and very sensitive

Cons: none
