I have used these rod holder for 4 years now and  have found them to be excellent for flounder drift fishing. They allow you quick access to your rod with out the delay of removing your rod out the end of the standard rod holder.  It also allow you to get the rod into uor hand without changing the position of your rod. I would recommend this holder to anyone who drifts or trolls.

Have 4 already!!!Bought two more, really like them, they are small and take less space when storing and even when mounted. Have read complaints about trolling, and the rod coming out. We troll most of the time and I always use a "trigger" rod and put the trigger behind the outside "holder" never had a rod come out or loose.

Make sure you have at least a 45-degree tip high pitch and tether your gear or the rod, reel and holder will go overboard. The base doesn't lock the rod holder down.

I received my two units yesterday [...] I am super pleased with the design of these holders. They are extremely robust, and even include a back plate for mounting. I bought these for my kayak, and I can't wait to get out on the water and test them. Excellent quality and the price is perfect.

I use these on my kayaks. They are well made and easy to use and very adjustable. The quick release feature is best used for stationary fishing, not trolling as the rod will pop out during trolling. However if you tie some string or a plastic tie around the top portion of the holder it keeps the rod from jumping out when trolling and works really well.

Cons: None

I purchased two of the Berkley Quick Set Rod Holders for my kayak. They mounted easily and are very adjustable. The quick release is nice. The only issue I have is when used when trolling with the rod to the side, when you get a fish on, the rod can ride up out of the holder since it has a very open design. However, if you adjust the forward and upward angle this solves the problem. Definitely worth the price.
