I use this bait for deep water halibut fishing along the British Columbia and Alaska coastline. I stay out for extended periods of time, so this is a great repalcement for frozen herring.
I caught a 265 pound halibut on one of these just north of Sitka - the fish tore up my tackle, but the lure itself survived to fish another day.
