Berkley PowerBait Power Eggs - Magnum

Berkley PowerBait Power Eggs - Magnum

Description

Berkley Trout Bait has a floating, biodegradable formula which enhances dispersion of scent and flavor to attract fish from wide ranges.

Power Eggs are more effective and longer lasting than real Salmon eggs. These eggs won't dry out. They stay on the hook and can also be used by fly anglers. They come connected together for versatile rigging techniques such as egg sacs and egg loops.

The Magnums are roughly the size of a chinook salmon egg.

Each jar contains approximately 40 Magnum Power Eggs.

I bought these to use in a stocked pond in Newport News Va. I fished about 45 minutes and had my limit of 4 rainbow trout. I used the Lemon Lime power eggs and only had to use two. I would recommend these if your planning a trout trip. Fish USA got my product to me quickly and that was awesome.

Pros: Stays on your hook for multiple bites, Good variety of colors
Cons: Not made in Salmon Peach

Berkley Power Bait Magnun Eggs!
TX
About Me:
none

We fished today using four eggs given to me by another fisherman I had met the week before,  Their were 3 of us and we limited out in 2 hours and 10 minutes to be exact.  15 Rainbow Trout.  The eggs stay on great and can be used for at least 2 hours, because they were still hitting them when we limited out!  Had lost only one of them during this time, I was afraid mine might get knocked off so every once in a while I would rotate it to another place on my hook.

We also caught one blue catfish, and 3 perch with them during this time,  I wanted to let you know I had my wife and her friend, with me, and none of us are great fishermen.  The fisherman who gave me the eggs had the same luck the week before on the two days he had fished there with his friends and family.

I'm a skeptic sometime, but not on this bait!

Just finished eating the fish and they were great!  First Rainbow Trout I've ever eaten to my knowledge.

Powerbait eggs will catch trout but casting out and waiting is not my favorite kind of fishing. Usually use them in winter when the trout are sluggish and relucant to chase worms, spinners etc. Favorite colors are sunrise and bubblegum. In my experience, the powerbait eggs catch as many fish as the Gulp eggs.

Cons: Limited Use

always fished for trout with minnows or worms well this year i saw an article on power eggs and tried them , man o man they are killer i was lucky enough to get hold of the old ones and you could catch 5-10 trout before rebaiting but the new ones are good for maby 2 trout it all depends on how deep the fish swallowed the bait, well this world revolves around money and i guess berkley saw that the old style were just to tough and could make more money with a cheaper bait but it works great, pink, yellow, salmon eggred, white, sunrise, pink sparkles, rainbow are my favs you will have your own after you use them, people will walk up to you and ask what are you using, fish off the bottom about 12-18inches use a weight that slides on the line, after a while if your line keeps tangling up it's your sinker, i use the bell sinker it solves my problem the guy at -fish usa.com- told me about that little trick cause it sucks when you reel in your line and it's always tangled up well great fishing!!
Pros: Easy To Handle, Easy To Store, Looks Realistic, Irresistible to Fish, Good For Variety Of Fish
Cons: Poor Construction, Old style was 10x better
Best Uses: Jigging, Shore Casting, Ice Fishing, Good bait for kids, No more messy baits, Fresh Water, Easy to use and store

About Me:
Avid Fisher
The addition of a power egg on the hook of a jig allows for a better presentation of the jig by adding volume and color. It makes the jig look like a bug with an egg sack attatched to its abdomen which in turn seems to please fish better. I use the bait exclusively for crappie fishing, but, often catch bass or bream on the jig when using in shallow water. The bait is constructed so that it does not dissolve in water and with enough strength that it stays on the jig until a fish shakes it off. I have often used one power egg through several fishing trips, so, they are worth the price.
Pros: Strong, Good For Variety Of Fish, Easy To Store, Easy To Handle, Looks Realistic
Cons: none
Best Uses: Fresh Water, Deep Water, Jigging

I can't buy these eggs locally... they're just not sold where I live. Glad I found them here. On lakes off the bottom - I use two eggs, typically an orange/pink or orange/flourescent yellow combination - on a size 10 hook with swivel and conical sinker just above the sinker. Cast it out, leave a little extra slack (prevent resistance when the fish takes) and get ready to set the hook! In streams, I'll float the bait (minus sinker) down the stream - not as consistent on the strikes.
Pros: Irresistible to Fish, Easy To Handle, Two fit on a size 10 hook, Easy To Store

I prefer these eggs to powerbait dough. No treble hook required so fish can be released with a minimum of damage. Unlike the dough, they stay on the hook. I fish them alone or with a piece of nightcrawler. Alone, a single egg will float a #10 baitholder hook. I will add a power egg to my nightcrawler when trolling to add visibility. The egg will stay on the hook, even after a hard bite.
Pros: Easy To Handle, Easy To Store, Will stay on your hook, Strong, Irresistible to Fish

I use three of these eggs on a #6 or #8 hook with a weight 18 to 30 inches up the line, depending how deep the water is. I always limit out. Keep several colors on hand as trout can be picky at times about color. White, sunrise, chartreuse and pink are my favorites. I did notice that the ones I bought this year tend to tear up after 4 or 5 fish. Previous ones I have caught as many as 10 or 12 on the same eggs.... Still..the best.. would take these any day over the more expensive, fall apart, drying out 'Gulp Eggs' that don't catch as many fish...IMHO

Has anyone noticed the difference in the formula of the new Magnum floating eggs. I found the new eggs are soft and can be mushed between the index finger and thumb unlike the old rubber eggs that didn't mush up. Also they don't stay on the hook very well like the old eggs. Also there is a light oil now in the bottle. I called Berkley and a fellow from customer service told me he found the eggs to be soft also. You couldn't beat the old style eggs for trout fishing . I bought 15 bottles from Fish USA . I don't think the fish like the new eggs as well as the old eggs. I would appreciate any input about the new eggs .I hope they change back to the old formula soon. Thank you

I ordered 5 different colors for a trout fishing trip on the White River in Lakeview, AR. I never got to try any of them except for the pink. They worked so good that I didn't need to try any of the other colors. I used these on a river rig with nightcrawlers. The trout couldn't resist this! I tried using the night crawlers without the power egg also. I didn't get anywhere near the bites doing this, honestly. Maybe I'll get to try the other colors before to long. All of my past time consist of trout fishing. I enjoy fishing the Smith River. These powereggs, I believe are the best artificial bait I have ever fished with. There not like the powerbait and you jerk it off. It stays on the hook. I have caught around 10-12 ciatation rainbows and brooks off these eggs. There is no doubt in my mind, i know ive caught 10-15 fish off the same two eggs. You cant beat em, they float well, they are scented, and stay on the hook

With Berkley Power Bait eggs I have caught many brown and rainbow trout at Ashfield Lake and Littleville Lake in Western Massachusetts. The trout are all good size - over 14 inches and the bait works great when all other types of bait fail. The power bait has been extremely reliable and I go back to it time and time again. The trout hit it hard and run with it - I love all the action.

These eggs work great on a #6 or #8 hook with a weight about 18" up the line. I never fail to limit out. Love 'em! The only thing I was disappointed in was the 'sparkle eggs'. About Me:

There are 2 great reasons I use power eggs. First of all I can fish them with confidence knowing that if I get a bite and miss the hook set, I still have bait, while paste users play the guessing game;"did he rob me or is there still something on there?" For years,I can't tell you how many times I've been trout fishing, missed my hook set and simply laid the line back down on the bottom to have the fish return to hit it again! I also find it easy to use. slide 2 to 3 eggs on (depending on the size hook you use) and work it off a sliding weight. When the going is slow, change colors or I prefer to use an attractant. Don't forget to adjust leader lengths when fishing the bottom. My main concern about the product is availability. Most stores don't carry many colors. I now buy 80% online Greg Robinson Portland OR

These are the bomb, period. Fish these with a #14 or #16 treble hook on a 2-3 ft. leader on a Carolina rig and you can't go wrong. I like to use 3 eggs still connected, 2 covering 2 of the hooks and 1 left exposed. I've caught 6 trout with the same 3 eggs before. The bait is reuseable, is extremely bouyant and doesn't go flying off the hook on a nice strong cast like dough baits do. These are superior to the Gulp! eggs as they do not dry out and are harder to rip. The jar may be small, but you really get more use out of it than dough. If you fish streams, this is the one for you! The current won't rip your bait off the hook. I highly recommend the Chartreuse Magnums with scales. It is by far, my favorite. If you haven't tried these yet, you are really missing out.

I use power eggs more than using Powerbait when it comes to fishing for Trout. Even though you still have to use the paste from time to time i get more hook sets on eggs than i do the paste. The fish have the ability to return to your bait and hit it again without loosing the bait from the first strike.
Pros: Good For Variety Of Fish, Great with a worm, Easy To Handle, Works in many conditions, Fish Don't Escape, Easy To Store
Cons: Limited color options
Best Uses: Shore Casting, Fresh Water

We fish from a canoe, and on land, the fish seem to love it, if they are biting that is. The power bait is easy to put on any size hook, especially in a canoe. I've caught my largest trout 22" rainbow last summer using magnum power bait. I orginally purchased from a small bait store and used what I had, when I went back to purchase more it was out of stock, I was so delighted to find magnum power bait w/ sparkles at fish usa.com I have given away some but mostly keep it to myself. Makes a great gift for any person who loves catching trout.
