 >  > Berkley PowerBait 4" Floating Steelhead Worms

Feel More Bites, Catch More Fish! - Fish hold onto Powerbait 18 times longer than ordinary plastic bait. Powerbait is 100% fortified with the most advanced scent and flavors ever developed to catch fish.

The Berkley Powerbait 4" Floating Steelhead Worm is perfect for steelhead and salmon fishing. These baits work well under floats, with jigs or added to plugs for casting or trolling. The buoyant floating body allows the worm to lie just above the bottom while drifting and the paddle tail creates a great swimming action on the retrieve.

The 4" Floating Steelhead Worms comes ten to a package.

I've been using these for a few years now.  I fish these under a float in the many tributaries of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario at the Western end of NY.  I rig them in the traditional west coast style of threading the line down the center of the worm, lengthwise.  The standard Bubblegum is the color I use and it is best in stained to muddy water when the bright color and size make all the difference.

Cons: none

Best Uses: Float fishing for Steelhead

I used the these worms for fall steelhead on the Salmon River. I rigged the worm on a 1/8 ounce round head jig. It was probably one of the easiest baits to use on a jig. I used the jig under a stem float with a flourocarbon leader. The worm remained on the jig for many casts. I highly recommend this bait.

Pros: Easy To Store, Easy To Handle, Looks Realistic, Good For Variety Of Fish

Cons: none

Best Uses: Jigging, Fresh Water

Been using these for Steel in Lake Ontario tribs for years. Not my first go to bait, but always produces when the fish are getting hammered with flies and egg sacs. It's something different and they whack em when nothing else produces.

Pros: Easy To Store, Looks Realistic, Irresistible to Fish

Cons: none

Berkley PowerBait 4 Floating Worm

About Me:

I obtained the 4 inch length worms, and cut off about the first one inch of the worm (head end). I rigged the worm onto a long shank No.8 hook being attached to a newly developed spinner setup. Also, colored the worm flaming orange using a plastic orange color dip. The results of my tests with the rigged worm was excellent. Great retrieval action with this rigged plastic worm and much has to do with the flexibility, flatten end shape, and change in color of the worm. In the upcoming trout season I'm confident this rigged worm cut to three inches in length will be hit by trout.

Pros: Good flexibility, Looks Realistic, Easy To Handle

Cons: none

Best Uses: Fresh Water, Trout fishing

Great for drop back steelies in the late spring and I'm looking forward to trying them in the fall again. I trimmed the worm at the collar shortening about 1 in. then rigged it on a small custom jig below a float. MONEY!
