I thread this guy up the hook and don't leave to much dangling behind....if they bite, I want them to be biting the hook area. I fished a slow moving river (Deep River Asheboro, NC) for about 3 hrs and caught 45 fish (catch and release) on this cheese colored worm. After a while it would get torn up some, but I would keep threading the parts back on and it still worked great....I just ordered 3 more packs. This has become my favorite lure for bream, crappy, bass....and it's a TROUT bait! No more buying worms or crickets.

If your are not using these for stream trout fishing, you are not catching nearly as many fish as you could! The hot colors for me are bubble gum pink and fluorescent red, especially the pink this spring. I'm on my 4th or 5th pack and usually catch 3 to 5 fish per worm before it's too tattered to continue. At 15 worms to a pack, you do the math. I use 4 lb. P-clear line, a fluorocarbon leader, a size 10 or 12 hook, usually Eagle Claw bait holder red. Thread the worm on hook about 1" from top just like regular garden hackle. If local regulations permit, tip with a wax worm. One or two BB split shot about 5-6" up leader and use a Trout Magnet foam float or something very similar. Don't use those red/white hard plastic goobers...they land too hard and are noisy. Adjust float so worm is drifting above the tops of the rocks in pool. Cast upstream and try and keep a fairly tight line. Cross pool casting requires a lot of line mending as you want the float to lead the parade and not have the line drag it too fast. A long rod helps here, I use a 9' Fenwick. Or, you can drift downstream with an open bail, using a finger to keep line tight. You will learn fairly soon to distinguish between when a rock or snag pulls the float down and an actual strike takes it down. They work in the fast water too although your drifts are usually shorter. Hooked and landed over 40 fish last Wednesday in a little over 6 hours of fishing, 25 of those in the last 2 1/2 hours before dark. You have something better, I want to know about it!

Rubber worm for Trout?

This is one of the best bait I had ever used. Who would of thought that a rubber worm would be so productive for trout? Used it for steelhead, so I thought let try it in my home river? Stocked trout love them. They stay on longer. Works best in fast water. Tryed pink, shad, natural so far. 5 stars...

These are the best trout worms on the market. They float and have the power scent. Jigged under a small split shot and the trout really go for them. This is a bait a trout fisherman should always carry.

I have been using these almost exclusively since mid-summer on trout streams in Western PA, especially the fluorescent red. Thread them on a #10 or 12 Eagle Claw Red bait holder hook, a BB split shot 4 to 6" up and drift under a Trout Magnet float. You can cast upstream and drift down or open the bail and float downstream. 50 to 60' drifts easy to do depending on pool size. The trout magnet float allows for easy depth adjustment, whether for a 12" riffle or a 4' deep pool. They hold up well on multiple strikes; I caught 3 trout including a 16" brook on same worm yesterday! Tip with a wax worm and they become especially deadly.
Pros: reasonably priced, easy to use, very durable, trout seem to love them

These are the best trout worms you can find outthere. The new ones have 15 in a pack and the old ones have 10 a pack. I only fish for trout and I can assure you that you won't be able to find better or more productive worms than these. I only use 5 different colors throughout the year. They work in any conditions you just have to find the right color. They come in a convenient plastic package that reseals. I typically use a small light hook in order to allow the worm to float and I add a splitshot above the hook. Make sure to practice dead drifting it and you will have a lot of success. These are my favorite artificial bait.
