5 stars for Berkley Gulp Strips

fish candy. Don't want a bait bucket or purchase expensive live shrimp or bait, the Berkley Gulp Strips are an excellent alternative. Transplanted from Western New York I now reside in Southwest Florida and fish daily. For several years I have been using the Gulp strips and now don't venture out into the saltwater without them. Usually I'll tip a bucktail or pompano jig with the Gulp strip and have had excellent success with Pompano, Whiting, Silver and Speckled trout, flounder, reds and snook. They are a real difference maker. One tip - or actually two - when tipping smaller jigs I usually cut the strips in half with a pair of bait scissors. I also air out the strips for about an hour to toughen them up and then return them to their resealable packet. Wouldn't go out with them.

Add to any slow-moving lure, especially jigs. Great for flounder. Bait stealers will tear it off. Make sure bag is fully closed or strips will dry out. Difficult to get in my area, especially in bloodworm (red/white). Should rename color for Gulf Coast area since store owners don't know what a bloodworm is and I doubt they are really red/white.
