Berkley FireLine Braid

Berkley FireLine Braid is the first radial braided superline. This design combines roundness, smoothness and strength, perfect for power baitcasting and spinning techniques when the added body of this premium braid is key. The round shape stacks better on the spool of the reel and resists digging in. FireLine Braid's slick smooth finish handles better than comparable braid and the high tech PE fibers make for a line 3 to 4 times stronger than monofilament lines of the same diameter.

Berkley FireLine Braid line has virtually no memory and no stretch for a telegraphic feel perfect for heavy cover freshwater casting, spinning for large saltwater species, and trolling in fresh water and saltwater.

The specifications for this line are in the table below. "Comp. Diam." refers to "comparable diameter." We provide the comparable diameter of the line if it were monofilament. For example, 20 pound test FireLine has a diameter which is comparable to that of 6 pound test monofilament.

About Me:

I use this in 65 lb test with a 7.5' heavy rod to catch bass in slop with hollow-body frogs. My favorite hobby right now... It performs much better than the Sufix Performance Braid I had spooled up, which cost about the same. This Sufix fades quickly, flattens out & digs into the spool on a regular basis. Somewhat common to have 'unexplained' small backlashes, & definitely need to color with a black magic marker to darken the line... Not so with the Fireline & I can easily outcast the 50 lb Sufix I used to use, with 65 lb Fireline that comes off smooth as silk. Can throw a standard SPRO frog 55 yards. Used Powerpro before & it was ok, but Fireline is darn near flawless for how I fish...

Strong braid with good abrasion resistance. Does not hold water, does not 'dig-in' to the spooled line, and does not birdsnest. Best line for my money.

Pros: Easy To Handle , Good For Variety Of Fish , Strong

Cons: None

Best Uses: Fresh Water , Shore Casting , Jigging
