Description

Berkley Amp Spinning Rods are lighter, faster and more sensitive than most rods in this price range. Never before has power, performance and value been combined into a single rod family like these rods. In addition to being fast and sensitive, Amp rods are built extra tough, thanks to Berkley's "Armadillo Hide" rod building technique, which eliminates cut fibers from the blank. Not only does this finish keep the blank free from imperfections, it increases strength and durability ensuring that an investment in an Amp rod pays off for a long time.

At the heart of the Amp rods is increased sensitivity to give anglers the best chance to turn even the subtlest strike into a catch. Amp rods also feature X-Posed, skeleton reel seats and split grip cork handles, which allows the hand to remain in constant contact with the rod blank to take sensitivity and light weight to a new level.

Features of the Berkley Amp Spinning Rods include:

  • Durable and sensitive Armadillo Hide graphite composite rod blanks
  • Lightweight single foot guides
  • Split-grip cork handles with rubber butt caps
  • X-Posed, skeleton reel seats
  • Blank-through-handle construction
  • Hook keeper

About Me:

Purchased an Amp ultralite rod several years ago, needed to replace a medium action rod this year so I purchased an Amp medium action. The reviews on this rod are scarey, but I think it is a great rod and have had excellent success with both the quality and feel of it. I know this rod will be as good as my ultralite, that I still use more than anyother rod I own.
Pros: Lightweight, Good Tip Action, Easy To Transport, Durable, Sensitive, Flexible, Accurate Casting

This is a great light action rod. Fished a rainbow trout lake this weekend and did alot of trolling. I have the 5'6", ultra sensative and a really fast shaft. I loved the split grip. It has a super sensitive tip. I paired it with a Shimano TX 1000 and the balance was perfect. Used spiderwire line and casts great.
Pros: Good Tip Action, Flexible, Durable, Easy To Transport, Accurate Casting, Sensitive
Cons: none
