Abu Garcia has started a revolution with the REVO series of low-profile baitcast reels, the fastest low-profile reels Abu Garcia has ever designed.
Built with Abu Garcia’s traditional Swedish engineering, the REVO is ideal for nearly all freshwater applications, from casting crankbaits or spinnerbaits to pitching and flipping softbaits.
The REVO Premier is the ultimate low-pro baitcaster. Packed with innovative features, including a Duragear oversized brass main gear for maximum cranking power and the innovative Carbon Matrix Drag System for incredible smoothness across all drag settings. The Linear Magnetic Brake system gives anglers a wide range of adjustments to fine tune the reel for any application. In addition, the Premier model features an Everslik coated pinion shaft and pawl, which dramatically reduces friction for enhanced casting while improving the durability of these components. The Premier also features the innovative Infini Spool II system, which is separated from the drive train, minimizes friction for optimal performance – even with the lightest tackle.
Abu Garcia designed the Premier to be as light-weight as possible while keeping in mind performance and lasting durability. To do this they have given the Premier an all aluminum frame and crank side cover. Amazingly, the Revo Premier is over 2 ounces lighter than the high performance Revo STX!

This reel outcasts pretty much everything out there and I use extremely light baits (1/16th oz jigheads, i.e.). My fishing buddies have asked what reel I have and bought the Premier themselves! Strangers have walked up to me and are amazed at the light baits I use and the distance I get with my casts. My reel has 2 seasons of heavy saltwater fishing and is pretty much in "out of the box" shape. Just rinse off and lubricate per owner's manual recommendations after each trip. My only complaint would be the apparent light coating on the case as it scratched too easily for me. For the money this is a great buy and out performs reels costing much, much more.

This compact unit is solid, well built, easy handlings and good at throwing small artificial lures. It offers a powerful drag. Time will tell if it can stand the salt water.
