Moose Mane is a supple, yet durable material with numerous uses when tying flies. This moose mane has been removed from the hide and consists of a mix of coarse black, brown, gray and white hairs measuring approximately 5 inches in length. A popular choice by many tiers as a quill body substitute when building dry fly bodies and making antennae. Tiers around the world use the long fibers for mayfly tails, mayfly extended bodies, midge bodies and legs on numerous flies. Moose mane is key material when tying many productive fresh and saltwater patterns.
