Excerpt:
This section contains a list of proven salmon and steelhead flies. Many of these flies are traditional patterns dating back hundreds of years. Although some of these patterns have been taking fish before we were born, it’s been my observation that these patterns are overlooked on the Salmon River. Why?I believe that many of today’s Salmon River fishermen are caught up in the modern flies such as most of the egg patterns.

In choosing this list I did not include the obvious flies that everyone is using, barring the Stone Fly and Wooley Bugger. The patterns in this section are flies that I feel are not used enough and definitely should be. (Tying instructions and a summery of each fly follows).
