If you'd like the flexibility of making a traditional single hand casts, roll casts or a full-on spey casts, the RoaringRiver Switch GLX Rods from G. Loomis are the rods your looking for. At 11' these rods are more than just traditional single hand rods giving you the ability to throw long casts with one or two hands. From a nice light 5-weight to a 8-weight, you'll be able to cover almost all water from your favorite trout streams to large steelhead drifts.
The RoaringRiver Switch GLX Rods feature G. Loomis's proprietary GLX graphite construction for the ultimate in lightweight and powerful fishing tools. The finest rod components available today are also utilized including, nickel titanium Recoil guides by REC and exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with special composite cork end-caps and fore-grips. The RoaringRiver Switch Rods also feature exclusive offset-oval, sculptured barrel reel seats in anodized green with ivory style inserts engraved with fly graphics. These GLX models have Highlander Green finished blanks.
All G. Loomis RoaringRiver Switch GLX Rods come with rod cases and protective socks. These are all four piece rods.

G. Loomis recommends using fly lines with Skagit or Compact Skagit tapers with the RoaringRiver Switch GLX Rods. The 5 wt. FR1325-4 GLX is optimized for 350 gr. lines. The 7 wt. FR1327-4 GLX is optimized for 450 gr. lines. The 8 wt. FR1328-4 GLX is optimized for 500 gr. lines.
» FR1325-4 GLX - This rod is for small to medium sized rivers and is perfect for trout to small steelhead. This rod has plenty of power for any unexpected surprises.
» FR1327-4 GLX - For all but the largest rivers, this rod is capable of handling wind, rain, longer casts and bigger flies. The heavier line will help stabilize the swing and hold depth in faster water. At just 11' 0" this GLX feels very light in hand, and is capable of all casting techniques.
» FR1328-4 GLX - A step up from it's 7 wt. little brother, the 8 wt. FR1328-4 GLX is a great all around switch rod. This rod can throw large flies long distances with ease. This rod is great for steelhead and small salmon.
