  • STR1024C (GL2, GL3) - A good winter-run rod. A great summer-run rod. In other words, our best all-around steelhead rod. This is an especially good choice for fishing small to medium-sized rivers where you have sufficient room to work a fish once it's hooked. It balances perfectly with ten pound line and half-ounce lures and it's surprisingly strong. Strong enough, in fact, to handle most smaller salmon species. (GL2 version)

  • STR1025C (GL2, IMX, GL3) - This winter steelhead rod provides the extra power necessary to fish higher water conditions and swifter currents. On average, winter steelies run larger than their summer cousins, so the extra backbone is a big advantage. Rated for up to 17-pound line, the 1025C is beefy enough for chinooks, but better suited to chums, sockeyes and cohos.

  • STR1084C (GL2, IMX) - As you travel north through steelhead country, rod lengths gradually increase (by the time you get to Canada, you're up to twelve feet or more), but when you look at the techniques involved it's easy to see why. Float fishing requires long rods to handle the floats and long leaders, while the smaller, brushy rivers of Northern California require shorter, lighter rods for success. By the time you get to the Cowlitz River in west central Washington-just up the road from G·Loomis—you've hit nine-foot country, and that's where this rod shines. It handles the long leaders and light leads required for the low, clear water of summer, and the heavier gear necessary to fish the high, emerald green water of December. The graphite is IMX because sensitivity is the name of the game and, especially in a longer rod, overall weight is an important factor.

  • STR1086C (GL2) - While technically this is a big-water steelhead rod, its nine feet of muscle give you plenty of flexibility for almost any sea-run species, including big chinook salmon. If you fish Alaska or any of the big rivers of Washington and Oregon, it's a great drift rod that will handle big plugs pretty well, too. Forced to upsize your weights and line due to high water conditions? This is the perfect rod.

  • STR1263C (GL2, GL3) - A powerful, extra-long drift rod designed specifically for the big rivers of British Columbia. While it's basically made for float fishing, it will work equally well using standard drift gear. Its medium-heavy power rating makes it ideal for silvers and chum salmon as well. Also makes a great downrigger/planer board rod for trolling in the Great Lakes.

  • STR1264C (GL2) - This is a very popular Canadian big water rod that's designed to handle long leaders and light weights while fishing from the bank during low, clear water periods of summer. It also works well when it's time to step up to the heavier gear of winter. And the extra length allows you to hold the rod high when you need to leave the bank for some deep wading.

  • STR1265C (GL2) - A powerful, extra-long drift rod designed specifically for the big rivers of British Columbia. While it's basically made for float fishing, it will work equally well using standard drift gear. Its medium-heavy power rating makes it ideal for silvers and chum salmon as well. Also makes a great downrigger/planer board rod for trolling in the Great Lakes.
