The G. Loomis Classic GL3 Series Fly Rods are one of the the best performance values on the market today. These are medium-fast action rods that are extremely forgiving and very lightweight. This combination helps to minimize the tailing loop when casting, giving you a more powerful accurate cast.
Designed with a multi-taper tip, they feel slightly stiffer than other G. Loomis rod families, generating high line speed with a slightly wider loop. That extra stiffness also makes them quite powerful, capable of making nice long, accurate casts. Some rod companies charge twice what a GL3 will cost you. But if you're looking for a powerful, high-performance graphite rod that will let you cast like you know you can, none of them will outperform a GL3.
These beautiful rods come with a black Loomis rod tube and cloth sack.

Additional specifications for these rods are provided below.
- FR1085 - This is the bread and butter trout rod for most anglers with all-around versatility and performance. This is a punchy rod thanks to it's multi-taper tip.
- FR1086 - Capable of remarkably long casts, especially in windy conditions where a 5 wt. can't quite handle it. This is a good streamer rod, and it admirably casts the oversized, stoneflies and hoppers popular on the larger streams of the high desert.
- FR1087 - This is a powerful rod for a variety of fly situations. Excellent for large trout and small river steelhead where streamers and sinking lines are used.
- FR1088 - An extremely versatile, medium-heavy rod suited to larger flies and floating or sinking lines.
- FR1089 - A great rod for heavy-duty freshwater applications as well as light-duty saltwater use. It casts like a bullet in the wind and has the power to handle all salmon species. Bass fly rodders love this model because it has the power to handle bulky deer hair flies and poppers and the big largemouths that eat them.
