The Ion Electric Ice Auger is the world's first high-performance electric ice auger. The Ion is so quiet that when using it the only sound you will hear is the cutting of the ice. The Ion Electric Ice Auger weighs just 22 pounds, that is nearly 40% less than many gas-powered augers.
The on-board 40V lithium ion battery features the most advanced battery technology available today, allowing you to drill up to 40 holes through 2-feet of ice on a single charge. The charge time for a dead battery is approximately 2.5 hours. A planetary gear transmission provides maximum efficiency at the lightest weight possible. The 8-inch auger cuts holes like a gas auger, but does not punish you with the characteristic jarring and yanking of gas augers. The power trigger is equipped with a safety switch and a delayed start to prevent battery drain as well as unwanted starts.
The No Catch Cutting System features the Spot On centering ring as well as the Straight Through blade design. The Spot On centering ring allows you to re-open frozen holes. When paired with the Straight Through blade design, the "catching" at breakthrough is virtually eliminated. This means no more jarring stops or yanks. The result is a smooth breakthrough with no jagged ice at the bottom of the hole that can often fray line.
The Ion features a 36" auger allowing it to be packed and transported easily in a sled or on an ATV. The included 12" extension creates comfort for taller anglers as well as allowing you to drill through thicker ice.
