| FishUSA.com Message Boards and Fishing Reports FAQ |
Welcome to the FishUSA.com Message Boards and Reports FAQ. This FAQ is intended to provide explanations of the features of this board, to provide answers to common questions, and to set forth the specific policies which apply to the use of this board and the fishing reports sections of our sites.
|
| What are the acceptable use policies which apply to the FishUSA.com Discussion Boards and Fishing Reports? |
It is the policy of FishUSA.com that the discussion boards and fishing reports should be enjoyable and appropriate for all. We use the "young viewer" standard - if a post is not appropriately viewed by a younger user, then it is not appropriate here and is subject to being edited or deleted. The following are the standards by which we judge the appropriateness of posts and the rules we will apply:
- Disagreeing with the views of others is fine. However, name-calling and personal attacks on others is not acceptable.
- Use of profanity is prohibited.
- Advocating or encouraging illegal or unethical fishing practices is prohibited.
- Posts which contain lewd or vulgar content are prohibited.
- Posts which are disparaging of others based on their race, gender, age, religion, national origin or physical handicap or disability are prohibited.
- Use of the board to advertise or promote the commercial sale of goods or services is prohibited.
- Use of the board to promote other commercial web sites or tackle shops, or web sites or tackle shops which compete with the FishUSA.com, FishErie.com or FishSalmonRiver.com web sites is prohibited.
If, in our sole judgment, a post violates our policies, we may edit it or delete it.
We apply the same standards to reports posted on the fishing reports section. In addition, we may remove any post to the reports section that, in our sole opinion, is not a valid or credible fishing report.
If a user violates our policies, we will send an email warning that user that future violations will result in that user being banned from our sites, including the discussion boards. Egregious violations may result in a user being banned from our sites without prior warning. If we ban a user from our sites, that user will no longer be permitted to access or attempt to access any of our sites and any attempt to do so will be considered a trespass to our property.
Although these boards are intended for the discussion of fishing-related issues, we will permit other topics to be discussed if they are reasonable.
If you believe a post is offensive or inappropriate, please contact us by email at webmaster@fishusa.com.
Use of the discussion boards is also subject to all of our Terms of Service.

| How do I add a picture to the Discussion Boards? |
This discussion board uses what is called "AMB code" to permit posting of pictures on the board. To post a picture, you must first have the image uploaded and posted somewhere on the internet. No one on the internet can view a picture if it is located only on your personal computer. Most personal internet accounts have some "web site space" to which you can upload your images.
Please do not link to pictures that are either (a) very large in dimension, or (b) very large in file size. If your picture is more than 500 pixels wide, it will distort the entire thread of the post by pushing the right margin off further to the right. If your picture is too large in file size (it should be under 50 kBps), everyone will have to wait for your picture to load before they can see it.
The steps to post a picture are these.
First, upload your picture or pictures to a location on the internet (like your personal web or FTP site) which is viewable to the public.
Second, find the address (or "URL") of your picture on the internet. You will need this to link to the picture when posting it on the discussion board.
Third, in your post on this discussion board, link to your image by typing the address or URL of your image, and putting immediately after the link to the image.
In summary, the format for linking a picture is this:
