Cortland's Current Mid-Arbor reel may just be the best value in a fly reel today. This feature packed reel starts as a solid billet of 6061T6 aluminum. It's then machined to exacting tolerances and hard anodized for a lifetime of durability in fresh or saltwater. Cortland then adds a fully enclosed, center mounted Rulon disc drag that will protect 7X tippets or stop a bonefish's sizzling run. The exposed rim lets you palm the counterbalanced, quick release spool for even more control. The knurled bar stock drag knob is slip proof, even with wet, slimy or cold fingers. The mid-arbor design gives you maximum line capacity but still has all the benefits of rapid retrieve and reduced line coiling.
All this performance is wrapped up in an attractive package. The Current's distinct frame is anodized in a charcoal color while the spool is done in pewter. These reels will compliment the finest fly rods.
