For nearly a hundred years Cortland Line Company has broken new ground in sportfishing line development. Cortland's 555 SERIES Fly Lines represent the next step in fly line development. The world of the 21st century fly fisher is expanding at lightning speed. The cutting edge angler demands performance and value. The 555 SERIES has been designed to be one step ahead of today's fly fisher combining groundbreaking new Barrier Construction Technology with application-specific tapers and proprietary coatings that tune in each line for the job at hand.
The 555 SERIES does not rely on a single coating, body material, core or taper. Each line is engineered to address the fly fisher's specific needs.
The vital fly line design elements have been structured to meet specific demands, making each 555 SERIES Fly Line unique.
This is the 555 Quick Descent line - 15 foot. This line is designed for coldwater fishing for large trout, salmon, steelhead, big bass, pike and muskies. All these lines are a weight forward design with an intermediate running line and a 15 foot sinking tip with different sink rates. They are longer lines, with an overall length of 125 feet. The intermediate running line is a "Type 1" line with a sink rate of 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 inches per second. Each line in this series is color coded so you can tell which one is on a spool.
